Celebrating the Earth and the Rights of All.

Come meet in San Francisco at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 22, the day after Summer Solstice, at Embarcadero Plaza. We will march, make music, dance, perform street theater & spoken-word, and non-violently call for a better nation and a better world. Create your own art-action and join us!

Our intention is to create a space for dialogue, exploration, and celebration while facing those powers most responsible for the destruction, injustice, and disrespect of the earth that harms our bodies, our communities, and our livelihoods.

Last year, 192 nations came together to create a charter honoring the inalienable rights of Mother Earth. Since then, student groups and activists around the world have called for equality, sustainability, worker's rights, and justice. In downtown San Francisco on June 22nd, the day after the Summer Solstice, we will join our voices with theirs.

Whether we are veteran artists and activists or stepping out for the first time, our actions will enliven the streets with our vision of a healthy and compassionate world. Join us under the International Flag of Peace and the flag of the Earth. We will meet at Embarcadero Plaza at 11am for a nonviolent march, street theater performances, and to challenge the limits of the dominant paradigm with our creativity and imagination.

We come together in celebration of:

  • Peace
  • Food Justice
  • Sustainable Energy
  • Education Funding
  • Women's and Minority Equality
  • Civil Empowerment
  • Health Care for All
  • Government for the People, Not the Corporations
  • Justice for All, Not Privilege for the Few
We invite you to dance, march, speak out, and shine your light on the issues that matter most to nonviolently demand a better nation and a better world.

We Need YOU!

Solstice in the streets was originally conceived of as a street-festival meets political action full of vibrant color, creative performances, sacred honoring of the earth, and passionate demonstrations in defense of the earth.

Think burning man art cars with a mission.  Puppets with potential for changing the world.   Deeply committed political long-term activists joining hands with choir-girl flash mobs.  Pride.  The magic of the youth-led uprisings in Egypt and Spain with a San Francisco flair.

But in order to make that happen, we need YOU!  Yes, you and all of your friends and conspirators -- we're looking for self-determined self-organized groups of people willing to bare heart and soul to create something unique and wonderful for this day.

Get together some friends and start creating something to contribute! We're looking for pods of people to begin crafting street theater pieces, flash mobs, musical interludes, visual art, etc.

Our first art build will be Saturday, June 18th in Berkeley, CA.  But don't wait for that.  If you have an idea for something, go for it!  And drop us a note to let us know what it is you're thinking!

We're happy to help you get organized and offer support, as well.  Just let us know what we can do!
